Palmetto Bay
Incorporated on September 10, 2002, the Village of Palmetto Bay, dubbed the “Village of Parks”, is the 33rd municipality in Miami-Dade County. The Village extends from the centerline of S.W. 136th Street, south to the centerline of S.W. 184th Street, expanding west to the centerline of South Dixie Highway, including the center island, and east to Biscayne Bay. The Village of Palmetto Bay is a vibrant community of more than 25,000 residents who enjoy its beautiful surroundings and family-oriented atmosphere.
Situated adjacent to beautiful Biscayne Bay, Palmetto Bay offers unique recreational opportunities and bay access for all to enjoy. Residents enjoy the benefits of an extensive park system composed of six park facilities offering a myriad of opportunities ranging from active to passive, recreation to preservation, and ground activities to water recreation. Restaurants, lodging and markets are a few of the service industries available to our residents and visitors.
A Village favorite is Coral Reef Park. Spanning more than 50 acres, Coral Reef Park offers open green spaces, pineland preserve areas, and the tranquil streaming cana. It is a central location for playing, walking, reading, relaxing, and picnicking. Residents also flock here for beach volley ball, tennis, baseball, a boundless playground, exercise trail, and abundance of indigenous birds and other wildlife. Another popular spot within Palmetto Bay is the Charles Deering Estate. The 444-acre Estate is an environmental, archeological and historical preserve. From canoe tours to butterfly walks and guided nature hikes, the Deering Estate has diverse activities for the whole family to enjoy and offers daily tours of its historic houses.
